Okay?…so what does that really mean?
We all have emotions and some of you let them get the best of you when it comes to letting those emotions control your actions. Some of you are afraid of certain emotions or have even labeled some of them as “good” or “bad”……..but here is the truth. No emotion is either good nor bad. They are all immoral! What you choose to do with the emotions is what really holds the weight.  Your job performance, relationships success or failures and even bigger than both of those is your relationship with yourself all trickle off the actions you choose when feeling emotions.

Emotions are best used as educators and indicators that something larger is going on. If you let your mind take it just a step deeper and try to understand the emotion rather than just acting on it impulsively then you will gain a deeper understanding to yourself. Knowledge of Self is PRICELESS. If you start understanding WHY you  do the things you do, then you can truly change unwanted behaviors and patterns!

But where do emotions come from?
________________________________________________________
Emotion is believed to be generated from a physical source, and the part of the brain responsible for it is the limbic system of the brain, which is made up of several structures located in the cerebral cortex. These structures register the levels of chemicals – called neurotransmitters – being manufactured by the body in response to certain conditions the person is experiencing.

…but what does that mean? hahaha
Your emotions are triggered by either chemicals from the brain, or for the sake of this post we are going to talk about the emotions that are triggered from particular thoughts (which in turn are still from the brain). **Neuropsychology is SO COOL!!
You have an automatic thought…..this produces an emotion (chemicals released)…….which in turn produces an action….
This system is what we look at when doing research proven Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is a proven form of therapy that can help change unwanted behaviors!
So instead of viewing emotions as bad or good…my challenge for you to just try to merely understand where that emotion is coming from (what thought) and be more mindful of the actions you produce!
Dig Deep and be mindful of those emotions!!! They are trying to teach you something! Don’t miss out on the lessons of life
Below I have included a chart of emotions. Understanding your emotions takes discipline and time but it’s crucial to your development! Ungrade your emotional intelligence and expand your vocabulary with the below charts! Don’t just stick with the inner circle emotions…..really expand out and pin point what you’re really feeling before those actions are taking place….
And for a more fun version 🙂
