Yup, Life is hard!
We all hear that throughout our lives, and sorry if I am the first person to mention this fact to you, but the reality is……life is hard. We know this, yet we still get upset when something doesn’t go our way or we are faced with a problem….why? Because we sometimes forget that life is hard, or don’t want to fully accept it. It doesn’t fit into our worldview or the lense that we look at our lives through. No one told us it was going to be easy, but in the back of our minds we still don’t expect that life should be this hard.
Life is really just moving through the problems that come our way…..getting through those problems and building wisdom and strength is the highlights of life. What do we have to celebrate or be proud of if we hadn’t gone through something challenging?……We can’t possible enjoy those moments of victory if we never face the reality and problems in life. That’s the thing about problems though…..they usually bring pain in some way or another. We don’t like pain and emotional pain hurts just as much physically sometimes. We are afraid of pain………but if you really look at it…..pain only shows us things we need to work on and If you’re paying attention it can show you your weaknesses. LEARN FROM IT…. As humans we tend to foresee a problem that could cause pain and instead of embracing it and working through it……we tend to do anything we can to avoid it or to substitute for it…… Which may seem to work for a time, but what we substitute or use to avoid the problem usually causes us MORE pain than the original situation would have. So moral of the story?……….don’t run from your problems and don’t run from the pain….embrace it! ITS HARDDDDDD! Fitness prepared me for life secondly to my relationship with Christ. Fitness taught me that the pain is important. It tells you when you need to step back and let yourself rest and it also taught me that it takes pain to grow in strength. The toughest and wisest people are usually the ones who have been through the most…..and now you know why. The faced their problems or giants. (David and Goliath is a great example of this)
What problems or fears are you facing? Why are you running from your problems? What pain are you afraid of? What are you substituting your problems with? Are you going through them alone?…why?
Would love your feedback on this one! A BIG fear for me is hurting other people and it has stopped me from doing a lot of great things for myself in the past, but I am learning to face my own problems and fears with faith and courage knowing I will in fact survive and I wouldn’t feel sorry for myself when life gets hard…I need to get my game face on and fight like heck to make it through!
LIFE IS HARD
……..but guess what……
this too shall pass…. (may be like a kidney stone…..but it will pass)
